Parent Compact

The School-Parent Compact has been developed with the collaboration of Title I parents.  It is distributed to all parents at the beginning of the school year, parent/teacher conferences, various scheduled school activities, and mailed during the date designated by the Title I program or by the school district.  The Compact outlines how parents, school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student achievement.

 

Plan of Support

  • Provide a rigorous, high-quality curriculum and instruction for all students.
  • Set high standards and expectations for all students to better prepare them for their future.
  • Continuously communicate with parents regarding their child’s academic progress.
  • Hold parent/teacher conferences to discuss and provide parents with student progress reports, explain common core standards, assessments, and provide ideas on how to monitor progress and help students at home.
  • Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer at school, participate in our councils and various school activities that will support their efforts in helping their children improve.
  • Staff is always accessible and will encourage parents to observe our educational program.

 

In an effort to share the responsibility of improving student achievement, Rosa Parks Learning Center encourages parents, students, and teachers to take the following pledge:

 

Three-Way Pledge

As a Rosa Parks student, I will:

*come to school to ready to learn, participate and ask for help when it is needed.

*complete all my assignments and/or projects

*work cooperatively with my teacher and classmates

*read at home for at least 20 minutes a day independently or with my parent(s).

*respect all members of the Rosa Parks Learning Center community.

As a parent of a Rosa Parks student, I will:

*ensure that my child arrives at school on time every day

*read with my child at least 20 minutes each day or ensure that my child reads independently

for 20 minutes each day at home

*provide time, space, and support for my child to do his/her homework.

*provide good nutrition, adequate rest, and needed support for my child

*attend school conferences, meetings, other school activities, and support PTA functions

*respect all members of the Rosa Parks Learning Center community.
